Demystifying the Role of the Business Analyst

Published: 2012-03-12

Business analysis is the fastest growing profession and one of the fastest growing jobs in the modern era. Almost every company that employs technology requires Business Analysts to assist with the specification and design of technology based systems that meet the business need. Because Business Analysts are typically multi- skilled generalists with a few critical specialisations, almost every organisation has a different job description.

This seminar is aimed at those individuals who are involved in the recruitment or management of Business Analysts and who have a need and desire to understand the role , the standards and the practices of business analysis so that they can develop more effective  business analysis capability in  their companies or for their clients.

Steve Erlank is Managing Director of Faculty Training Institute (FTI), South Africa’s foremost training provider of business Analysis programmes. FTI has graduated hundreds of professional Business Analysts from its signature Diploma in Business Analysis. Erlank is also President of the IIBA® South Africa Chapter. The International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) is the professional body serving the growing number of professional Business Analysts worldwide.   The main activities of the IIBA® include the development of a globally recognised Body of Knowledge (BABOK®) and the establishment of international certifications for the professional Business Analyst. The South African chapter (IIBA®-SA) exists within the broader structure and goals of the IIBA®, but focuses more specifically on the needs of the South African community of professional Business Analysts.
Steve Erlank is uniquely positioned to offer insight and information about a range of questions that plague non technical hiring managers of Business Analysts. Attendees will have the opportunity to table questions and will have the opportunity to contribute to the discussion.
